The all-new Range Rover Evoque was the most popular vehicle in the personal leasing market in July, knocking the Mercedes-Benz A-Class off top spot, according to Leasing.com’s latest League Table.
The new Evoque has steadily climbed its way up the Leasing.com League Table since its launch earlier in the year but several affordable deals during July saw enquiries rocket 150% month on month.
Leasing.com’s Head of Strategic Partnerships, Paul Harrison, said: “Finding a replacement for an already very successful model is always tricky, but Range Rover has managed to pull it off with the new Evoque.
“With styling cues from the large, luxurious Velar and lease rates for less than £300 per month, the Evoque encapsulates why so many consumers are saying goodbye to buying and leasing more premium vehicles at affordable rates. The Evoque is the third-most popular lease car of 2019 so far – behind the Golf and the A-Class in second and first place respectively.”
The most popular derivative proved to be the 2.0-litre D150 R-Dynamic two-wheel drive, followed by the more powerful P250 R-Dynamic all-wheel drive model. The most popular rental profile for consumers was 9+23 8k, which suggests that Evoque fans favour larger initial payments and shorter lease periods.
Despite Range Rover’s success, Mercedes is still the most sought-after brand among personal lease customers; the A-Class, E-Class, C-Class and GLA-Class all featured in July’s top ten, ensuring it remains the most popular make of car to lease in 2019.
